LinkedIn Post Not Updating

Having problems sharing an updated vacancy link on LinkedIn and it's showing old information?

LinkedIn caches link previews (including the title, description, and image) the first time a URL is shared. Even if you update the page or delete the post, LinkedIn often keeps the cached version for a while.

Here are a couple of ways to fix or work around this:

Option 1: Use LinkedIn Post Inspector

LinkedIn provides a tool called Post Inspector.

  • Go to https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/
  • Paste your URL there and click Inspect.
  • This forces LinkedIn to re-scrape the page and update its cache.
  • After that, repost the link, and the new preview should appear.

Option 2: Change the URL Slightly

If the option above doesn't work, try adding a query string like ?a=1 to the URL which can trick LinkedIn into treating it as a new link. For example...

Original URL: https://careers.mydomain.com/senior-manager-1234.htm
Updated URL: https://careers.mydomain.com/senior-manager-1234.htm
?a=1

Please note that if your original URL already has a query string then you need to add an additional & symbol e.g. https://careers.mydomain.com/senior-manager-1234.htm?ref=rgsite&a=1
